Unveiling Of the Mural

From The Gaffney Ledger) Downtown Gaffney is a bit more vibrant after the City unveiled its first mural Wednesday night. The mural, funded by a grant through the National Parks Service, illustrates the historic struggle between the Overmountain Men and the British. The mural was designed by Tyler Brown and Caleb Makaza. Brown ( inset right) graduated from Gaffney High School in 2007, studied Studio Art at Limestone College, and currently works as a museum assistant at the Cherokee County History and Arts Museum. Makaza (inset left) is a native of Zimbabwe and a graduate from Limestone College in Studio Art and Graphic Design. He is currently an intern at the museum. Ledger photo/ Abbie Sossamon)
