Objective:
The goal of this project was to design an engaging and educational publication that introduces readers to the fundamentals of acrylic landscape painting. The book aims to simplify complex art techniques for beginners while maintaining a clean, professional, and visually appealing layout suitable for both print and digital formats.
Target Audience:
Art students, hobby painters, and beginners interested in learning acrylic painting techniques and color theory.
Design Approach:
The visual design reflects clarity and creativity, combining structured typography with subtle artistic accents inspired by paint textures and brushstrokes. The layout prioritizes readability and flow, with consistent use of color palettes derived from natural landscapes such as blues, greens, and neutrals to echo the book’s subject matter.

Typography and Layout:
Typefaces: Gill Sans for headings and subheadings to convey modernity, clarity, and approachability. Body text set in a complementary serif for readability and balance.
Grid System: Two-column layout for clear information hierarchy and visual consistency.
Visual Hierarchy: Strategic use of color blocks and icons to emphasize key terms and tools.
Color Palette:
Cool and natural tones inspired by sky, water, and foliage. These hues were selected to evoke calmness, creativity, and connection to the natural world.
Imagery and Illustrations:
Custom brush illustrations and visual examples were integrated to support the instructional content. The visuals serve both educational and aesthetic purposes, guiding readers through the painting process.
Outcome:
The final publication effectively merges education and design, offering a balance between artistic inspiration and instructional clarity. The cohesive use of Gill Sans typography, color, and layout creates an inviting and professional learning resource for aspiring artists.
